We chose Belize for several important reasons. First, Belize is an English speaking country, governed under a democracy, and is safe and stable. It’s location is not only convenient to the United States but more importantly, it’s positioned in a location that rarely sees a hurricane or damaging tropical storm known to devastate other areas in Central America. Its tropical rain forests, annual rainfall amounts, temperature and fairly defined “dry” and “wet” season create the ideal growing conditions for hardwoods like teak and mahogany. The cumulative effect of all of these factors makes Belize the world’s premier location for growing hardwoods.
