We chose Panama for several important reasons. First, Panama is a very safe country with a strong economy and stable government. Similar to our project in Belize, Panama’s location is not only convenient to the United States but more importantly, it’s positioned in a location that rarely sees a hurricane or damaging tropical storm known to devastate other areas in Central America. Its tropical rain forests, annual rainfall amounts, temperature and fairly defined “dry” and “wet” season create the ideal growing conditions for hardwoods like teak and mahogany. Plus, the property title transfer process is Panama is easy enabling us to offer a program where our clients receive title to the property that their trees are growing on, creating additional security and another opportunity for financial gain. Finally, Panama offers a residency program for clients that desire to establish residency offshore. The purchase of acreage in our plantation qualifies them for the program. The cumulative effect of these factors makes Panama the world’s premier location for growing hardwoods.
